All what you need to know about Yerba Mate

– The yerba mate belongs to the family of hot drinks classified as stimulants.
– It contains caffeine in a quantity that is higher than that in tea but lower than that in coffee. A cup of yerba mate contains about 80 mg of caffeine.
– It may have a slight effect on weight loss, especially if accompanied with a balanced low caloric diet plan.
– The yerba mate helps resist to fatigue and exhaustion. It also improves mood and concentration.
– It is rich in polyphenols and contains many vitamins and minerals such as vitamins A, B, C, zinc and magnesium.
– It is preferable not to drink yerba mate excessively. It is also advised to avoid drinking it before sleep time. Pregnant or lactating women as well as people suffering from chronic diseases (heart, kidneys, diabetes, etc.) should consult their doctor to see if they are allowed to have such a drink.
