Does the good smell

Does the good smell of a food in the fridge prove that it’s still valid to consume?

No, it does not! The appearance and the smell of a food product are not always an indication of its good condition. A food item may be contaminated with harmful bacteria while such a thing may not be evident through its smell. Such bacteria can cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, fever and… sometimes other more serious problems. So the main idea here is to always ensure the proper preparation and conservation of food. Hence, if ever we are in doubt as to food condition (it was badly preserved or it lasted a long time before being used), it is advisable not to take any risk and not rely on its good smell but, instead, we should discard it immediately.
