Is it true that sesame seeds are a good source of calcium?

Indeed, this is true. Sesame seeds are known to be a good source of calcium. Moreover, they are a source of dietary fibers which facilitate intestinal transit and promote the absorption of carbohydrates and fats. Such a fact affects positively blood cholesterol levels.

According to the USDA, each 100 grams of these seeds contain 975 milligrams of calcium which is the most abundant mineral in our body. In fact, calcium plays various important roles, essentially in the development and maintenance of our bones and teeth. Also, calcium is essential throughout our life and can help prevent osteoporosis when taken in adequate quantities (calculated according to the age, gender, health status, etc.).
