Is it true that drinking water while eating makes us fat?

No, this is not true. Drinking water at meal time does not make us any fatter. Indeed, we can drink water at any time of the day and whenever we wish, even during meals. This does NOT make us fat. In fact, we should remember that plain water provides no calories at all.

On the other side, this same issue may have other considerations (either positive or negative) which should be treated on a case by case basis. For example, in the case of people who tend to be constipated, they may find the fact of drinking water during meals to be beneficial so that to facilitate bowel movement. On the other hand, those having a slow digestive cycle accompanied with stomach discomfort are advised not to drink water during meals since water consumption along with foods dilutes digestive juices, thereby making them less efficient during the digestion process.

Finally, we should always keep in mind that water consumption should always remain in reasonable quantities. Indeed, the abuse of any food is not recommended, whether it is water or any other food. This is how we’ll succeed in maintaining a balanced food plan.
