Tea as a product, whether it is green or black, is derived from the same plant. However, what differentiates green tea from black tea is its degree of fermentation during the manufacturing process. Thus, we should know that green tea is an unfermented product. Such tea was simply dried. Therefore, it retains almost all of its content of polyphenol, these powerful antioxidants that play an important role in the fight against body aging. As for black tea, it undergoes a complete fermentation process during its preparation. Also, black tea contains a lesser amount of polyphenols than green tea. As such, we should note that the less tea leaves are fermented, the more their infusion is beneficial to us. This being the case, favoring green tea to black tea can guarantee us a good load of health.
On the other hand, we should be aware that the fermentation process preserves the flavor of tea. Thus, black tea will retain its original taste over the years while green tea (better for our health) is to be quickly consumed and cannot be kept for a long period of time.
